Gold is a precious metal most commonly used to make jewelry. But there are some people who are so obsessed with this glittery metal that some everyday stuff has to be made of gold. Here’s a list of 10 expensive gold items, which are crazy and weird.

Supernova iPhone 6 Pink Diamond – $48.5 million

Customized by luxury brand Falcon, this iPhone is made of 24-karat gold and studded at the back with a massive pink diamond. Sold at almost $50 million, its price was twice more than that when it was launched.

America Gold Toilet

While there are some other gold toilets out there, “America” is different because anyone can use it. It’s installed in a public bathroom of New York’s Guggenheim museum. The exact price of this 18-karat gold potty is unknown as its maker Maurizio Cattelan refused to reveal it.

Gold Toilet Paper – $1.38 million

If someone has a private gold toilet, then he’s probably looking for a toilet paper that complements it. Thankfully, an Australian company named Toilet Paper Man is selling three-ply rolls infused with flakes of 22-karat gold.

Passion Diamond Shoes – $17 million

Only 50 pairs of these gold-and-diamond stilettos will ever be sold and each one will be customized once purchased to fit the wearer perfectly. A size 36 prototype was displayed at the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai for prospective buyers to see.

Hermes Kelly Rose Gold Handbag – $2 million

Hermes bags are quite expensive, but this one costs a lot more. It’s made of rose gold fashioned to resemble crocodile leather and dotted with diamonds. Only 12 bags of this kind were ever created.

Golden Shirt – $250,000

Made of 22-karat gold, this shirt weighs about 7 pounds and took more than 2 weeks to weave. It was owned by the late Datta Phuge, a gold investor from India.

Canadian Giant Gold Elizabeth Coin – $997,000

Featuring Queen Elizabeth on one side and maple leaves on another, this coin was created to promote the country’s 1-ounce bullion coins. It’s made of 99.999% pure gold, 1.2 inches thick, weighs 220 pounds, and has a diameter of 21 inches.

Disney Gold Christmas Tree – $4.2 million

Ginza Tanaka, a Japan jeweler specializing in gold accessories, collaborated with Walt Disney Japan in 2012 to create a 2.4-meter tall Christmas tree. This tree features 50 Disney characters made of 88 pounds of 24-karat gold.

Although this amount of gold won’t even cost a million dollars, much of the dizzying price went to craftsmanship and design.

BeefEater Barbecues Golden Grill – $155,000

Completely plated with 24-karat gold, this grill isn’t just for show. Created for the Sydney Home Show in 2007, it is recognized as the world’s first ever full-function golden grill.

Frrrozen Haute Chocolate – $25,000

In 2007, Guinness World Records declared this high-end version of frozen hot chocolate as the world’s most expensive dessert. A creation of Serendipity 3 restaurant in New York, it contains 0.18 ounces of 24-karat gold and is to be eaten using a gold spoon.
