Ginza Tanaka, a Japan jeweler specializing in gold accessories, collaborated with Walt Disney Japan in 2012 to create a 2.4-meter tall Christmas tree. This tree features 50 Disney characters made of 88 pounds of 24-karat gold.
Although this amount of gold won’t even cost a million dollars, much of the dizzying price went to craftsmanship and design.

In 2007, Guinness World Records declared this high-end version of frozen hot chocolate as the world’s most expensive dessert. A creation of Serendipity 3 restaurant in New York, it contains 0.18 ounces of 24-karat gold and is to be eaten using a gold spoon.
